My students are actually writing a text on the place they usually visit during their summer holidays. Of course they are making up everything but my main objective is not that of obtaining true information. I'm trying to make them famliar with the possibilities that internet can offer in order to organise a journey by themselves. In the end they should be able to present their work, talking about it in front of the others. What I'm amazed by is that they seem rather keen on what their are doing. What's more they are using imagination, something that is not given enough importance in the Italian school system.
I'm glad my bored and undisciplined students have finally found something they are interested in. This shows that young people's brains need to be stimulated as much as possible, in as many ways as possible.
